“Our aim as teachers is to facilitate post-traumatic healing and arrive at post-traumatic freedom.” - Max Strom

From 10 until 16 October 2025, Max will host his Breathe to Heal Facilitator Training in Hilversum, The Netherlands. This is a training + retreat. During the training you will stay at De Hoorneboeg in the beautiful country side of Hilversum, in the Netherlands. Nestled in nature's beauty, the Hoorneboeg fosters quiet reflection and personal growth.

If you are interested in the training, you can pre-register by contacting Mijke at [email protected].

About the training

Alleviating anxiety, depression and panic-attacks is one of the most pressing matters in today’s society. Conventional methods like talk-therapy do their part, but it’s often not enough. The Breathe to Heal system has proven highly successful at accelerating emotional healing and getting to the core of symptoms like anxiety, depression and panic attacks. This training has proven highly successful for therapists, social and health professionals, coaches, and (yoga) teachers who added Max’s method to their healing repertoire.

What will this training cover?

This training reveals a new understanding of the interconnectedness between anxiety, loneliness, and un-reconciled grief. These are all aspects of the central issue which is our relationship with others and ourselves. By releasing and reconciling with our suppressed emotions we enhance our ability to have deep relationships and we reclaim tranquility in our daily lives and body. The training will give you the chance to personally experience and fully understand the impact of the Breathe to Heal system so that you can implement the techniques into your sessions authentically and effectively.

Venue - De Hoorneboeg
This retreat takes place in the Netherlands. The retreat location “Aan De Hei” (near Hilversum) is part of Buitenplaats De Hoorneboeg, a magnificent property of 13 hectares with its own forest, ancient winding paths and a picturesque hill in the center. On the property you can wander through the winding forest paths or you can take a walk in the heath (“de Hei”). It is a space to relax and just get away from the hectic pace of our daily lives, and to connect with yourself, nature and each other. The serene grounds offer any number of beautiful spots for meditation or journaling.

Travel information

Arrival is scheduled between 2 and 3pm on Friday 10 October 2025 at De Hoorneboeg. The retreat center is unable to receive guests before that time, so please organize travel arrangements accordingly. Your program will start at 3:30pm.

Getting There

By car
The Hoorneboeg is centrally located in the Netherlands. You can easily reach the venue by car, using the exit Hilversum on the A27. Your visit starts with a peaceful ride through a kilometer-long lane of trees along the heath and woodland which opens onto the 13-hectare estate. There is a dedicated parking lot on the side of the property. The rest of the estate is completely car-free and you can reach the farmhouses by a short walk from your car through the forest.

By public transport
The area is also well served by public transport, with a bus stop at the beginning of the driveway (bus 58 from Hilversum). From here, it is a nice walk along the heath and woods, about 10 minutes to the country estate. From the railway station in Hilversum you can also bike 15 minutes to the Hoorneboeg (you can rent an OV-fiets at the railway station or bring your own on the train) or arrange for a taxi.

By plane
We recommend to fly into Amsterdam airport. Once you have collected your baggage, go to the central meeting hall/exit. Purchase a train ticket at the yellow/blue machines or at the ticket counter. Follow the signs to the platform or ask for directions at the ticket counter and board the train to Hilversum. It will be about a 10-minute train ride. Once you arrive at the Hilversum train station, there are taxis waiting at the exit of the station. The taxi ride to the retreat center is only about 10 minutes.
Flying into Eindhoven airport is also a good option and sometimes offers better times for your particular route, though it is farther from the retreat location in Hilversum.
