Take this unique opportunity to join the inspiring and empowering teacher Max Strom in his special summer Wellbeing Retreat, from June 5-7, 2020 in the stunning retreat center, De Hoorneboeg in Western Netherlands.
We currently have a worldwide pandemic of stress and anxiety that is stifling our happiness, intimacy, and creativity. This impactful retreat will teach you how to use breathing patterns to help alleviate anxiety, Post-traumatic stress, depression, and improve sleep. Many of these challenges are due to being taught socially from a very young age to suppress and numb our feelings, leaving us carrying a silo of un-reconciled emotions in our chest. Using breathing patterns for 20 minutes daily, as taught by Max Strom, can bring us back to a peaceful and calm state as well as gift us with insight and knowledge that was buried along with our feelings. With this new insight we are empowered to make new and meaningful life decisions.
This event is also extremely useful for medical practitioners, therapists, and yoga teachers who want to incorporate this work into their healing repertoire.
You will learn how to include this healing practice into your daily life back home and also having enough space to enjoy the forest, go for a walk in the fields of heather, or just relax on the terrace.
The essential elements of our weekend:
- Learn to differentiate between the causes and symptoms of emotional distress.
- Learn breathing patterns to alleviate stress and burnout. Max’s personally developed practice that is both deceptively deep and satisfying both to the beginner to the advanced.
- Transform isolation into connection.

This new retreat location “Aan De Hei” near Hilversum is part of Buitenplaats De Hoorneboeg, a magnificent property of 13 hectares with its own forest, ancient winding paths and a picturesque hill in the center. The restoration of the two historic farms was completed in the spring of 2018 with the intention of creating an inspiring location to host transformational retreats. On the property you can go wander through the winding forest paths or you can take a walk in the heath (“de Hei”). It is a space to relax and just get away from the hectic pace of our daily lives, and to connect with yourself, nature and each other.
The two farmhouses are connected to each other through a corridor and are solely used by the group for the yoga retreat. Both houses overlook the vast heath and lie on the edge of woodland. There is a large practice room, a library with a fireplace stove, a spacious living room also with a fireplace and a spa with sauna and relaxation area overlooking the heath. There is a choice of single and double rooms on the upper floors, all with private bathrooms. There is also a treatment room where you can book a massage from one of our expert therapists available on site.

The Hoorneboeg is very centrally located in the Netherlands. You can very easily reach the venue by car, using the exit Hilversum on the A27. Your visit starts with a peaceful ride through a kilometer long lane of trees along the heath and woodland which opens onto the 13 hectare estate. There is a dedicated parking lot on the side of the property. The rest of the estate is completely car-free and you can reach the farmhouses by a short walk from your car through the forest.
The area is also well served by public transport, with a bus stop at the beginning of the driveway (bus 58 from Hilversum). From here it is a nice walk along the heath and woods, about 10 minutes to the country estate. From the railway station in Hilversum you can also bike 15 minutes to the Hoorneboeg (you can rent a OV-fiets at the railway station or bring your own on the train) or arrange for a taxi.

Walking shoes, thick socks or slippers for indoors and if you plan on using the private sauna you will need to bring a bathrobe and slippers.

You may arrive between 12:00 and 12:30 pm on Friday, June 5th, 2020 at De Hoorneboeg. (The hotel is unable to receive guests before that time, so please organize travel arrangements accordingly. Your program will start at 13.00)
There is a beautiful healthy menu planned for the weekend of vegetarian food, with vegan, gluten free options.
For the ultimate retreat experience, it is important that you have practiced with Max Strom before OR have practiced several times with either his Inner Axis 30 on YouTube, or his app, Strategic Breathing prior to committing to this immersion. We entrust you to ensure this requirement will be fulfilled.

These Inner Axis special events will focus on revitalizing and harmonizing the health of our body, nervous system, and spirit. The center is quiet, beautiful, and serene. The events will consist of lectures, writing, and full practices of Inner Axis breath initiated movement, guided visualizations, and meditation. These are digitally unplugged events.
This is an invitation to join me for my well-being and yoga retreats. Retreats are the most potent medium for accelerating our personal evolution and reconnecting with nature, our community, and what is most meaningful to us. In these events we get the rare opportunity to have all distractions removed for a few days, totally unplugged, surrounded by natural beauty and like-minded seekers. I personally select retreat centers that are quiet, beautiful, and conserve healthy and delicious food. All of my retreats consist of lectures, writing, and full practices of my Inner Axis breath initiated movement, guided visualizations, and meditation. All levels of experience are welcome and taken care of.
