Take this unique opportunity to join the inspiring and empowering teacher Max Strom in his retreat from 24 to 30 July 2022 at Monte Velho retreat center located in the stunning area called Algarve, in Southern Portugal. The focus of this retreat will be renewal, relaxation, and vigor. These days together will consist of full practices of Inner Axis movement and breathing, lectures, writing, and relaxing all in the beautiful landscape of the Algarve, where the air is pure and nature is powerful.

This retreat is an invitation to get to know and deepen Max’s Inner Axis System; to learn how to include this healing practice into your daily life back home and at the same having enough space to enjoy the sun, go for a swim in the ocean, or just relax in the hammock on the terrace.

The essential elements of our week:

• Inner Axis – Max’s personally developed practice that is deep and powerful both to the beginner and the advanced student

The classes will be taught in English.

Daily Schedule (subject to modifications)

• 8 - 9am: Breakfast
• 10 - 11:30am: Inner Axis, movement and breathing
• 12:30 - 4pm: Lunch & free time
• 4 - 6pm: Inner Axis, movement and breathing
• 6:30 - 7:30pm: Dinner
• 8:15 - 8:45pm: Lecture, meditation, or free time

Magical eucalyptus and pine forests, sandy beaches and spectacular cliffs – the simple yet beautifully designed Monte Velho Nature Resort is located in a peaceful setting right in the heart of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, in the Algarve, Southwest of Portugal. 5 minutes’ drive from Amado beach, one of the many gorgeous beaches along this coast. With country tracks waiting to be explored by foot or bike; a swimmable lake and magic beaches nearby; Plenty of opportunity for healthy outdoor fun. And why not relax with a sauna or steam bath in between.

We can accommodate 26 participants in triple and double and a limited number of single rooms. All rooms have a private shower/toilet. The rooms are simple, yet with great attention to detail.

Additionally, we offer a shared room with 4 beds. This accommodation is located close to the practice room. Toilets and showers are located 100 meters away from the dorm. An experience of simplicity in the middle of nature at more modest costs.

Arrival/Departure

Aim to arrive between 4 and 6pm on Sunday 24 July 2022 at Monte Velho. We are unable to receive guests before that time, so please organize travel arrangements accordingly. There is a meet & greet at 6:30pm, followed by dinner.

On the last day, Saturday 30 July 2022, check-out for the rooms is at 10am. Latest departure time from the venue is noon. The last class takes place on Friday night.

Flight / Transfer

Monte Velho is located 1.5 hours from the Airport of Faro.

Swiss, Transavia, Lufthansa, Easy Jet, TAP, Edelweiss, Ryanair, and additional airlines fly to Faro from various European cities. The transfer from the airport to the retreat center will take around 1.5 to 2 hours and the costs are depending on how many people are sharing a taxi: €100 for 1-4 people, €160 for 8 people. Please let us know your arrival time as soon as possible, as we try to organize group transfers to keep these costs low. If you arrive/leave very early or very late and you need a taxi only for you, the costs of this transfer can be around €100 per car/per way.
